ROAM ON THE RANGE

A cowboy poem by a cowboy poet wanna be

There may be gaps in our itinerary…that’s not disturbing news…as we may be in your neighborhood…to spend some chawin’ time with you.

Often our meetin’s are extended…or the announcer cried, “Re-ride”…or we done be sittin’ on the porch in a rocking chair…enjoyin’ more time…with all the good ole folks we find.

Often in our journey…we lope a different range…we may have eyed some new grazing land…where a pot of cowboy coffee is a brew…don’t ask me how they did it… but I got hobbled too.

We may be hookin’ up…with the man called Johnny Law…joining with his posse…to catch a few hombres…and may even stick around…’til Judge Roy Bean has had his say.

Maybe we’ve pulled off the dusty trail …to catch a few bright rays…slipping into Speedo shorts…along with cowboy boots and hat…and splatterin’ sunscreen on the trees, bushes, rattlesnakes…and maybe on my back…relaxin’ on our lawn chairs...and sipping lemonade—I is only kiddin’…about the lawn chairs any way.

You may find us saddled up…and gathering a bunch of strays…or maybe it is better said…they’s all out looking for little ole me…cause the quarter horse at K-Mart…well… to the barn he’s on his way.

If you see a motorcycle…flying past your ride…and if you see a cowboy hat…and shotgun boots besides…it’s probably me and my honey…with our buddy by our side… enjoying the smell of roses…but more likely a fresh cow pie…I can say with almost certainty…of this I do not lie…we ain’t looking for anything…but good ole countryside…and you’ll see the bugs and butterflies in our teeth… as we simple wave bye-bye.

Though it may not show up on the circuit…we’ve got good news for you…the stagecoach is on time…and its next stop…well…it may be close to you.

So when it seems…there’s been a wreck…between this rider and his bay…and all the dust and flying dirt…and I ain’t talkin’ hay …or maybe ‘tis a meeting or two… has been left completely out of view… it may be that…my honey’s tied up…as practicing my ropin’ she still lets me do.

You can spur the little wording…or just a click will do…at the place that’s called “Contact Us”…and the page will turn anew…and you can mount your buckin’ horse… and like the Pony Express…Your e-mail will get through.
